Lift and stairs to station slowly take shape

Construction of the lift and stairs to the light rail is obviously a serious piece of work, judging by how long it is taking and how much is involved. The lift will have three levels - one at the top near the driveway entrance to HM, an interim level for the cafe/restaurant at the bottom of the steps, and the bottom level onto the light rail platform. So it's not just a matter of building a lift, but the entry and exit levels in each of these places.

  1. Thanks for this! I wonder if we're still on track for June - wouldn't be surprised if it was July or even August! Any insider info Elana?

  2. I agree with Jono maybe later than what we think. Maybe the inclement weather will delay the finishing product. Once again Elana your blog has been amazing. Can't wait for the finished product.

  3. It's a handsome building now the scaffolding is coming off. I think the black bricks on the stairs look great.

  5. Hi Elana!
Thank you again (and your father) for thisbgreat blog keeping us up to date! Have you or anyone from the blog readers heard anythihg on completion timing? Do you kbow what the settlement process is (practically)? The contract only specifies a very short nitice period, however, would be great to get all bank approvals in pkace in advance. Can youbor any of the readers share some practical advice? We have never settled off the plan before. Thanks All! Kind regards, Elena

    1. Hi Elena. Awesome question. I recommend you do independent research to make sure that the practical information you're looking for is clear to you and meets your individual circumstance.

      - Elana has posted an updated from Ceerose which gives you an outline of dates. If July/August is the approx settlement date, check with your preferred lending institution's length of validity with pre-approvals.
      - Your lending institution can also provide internal settlement processes/timeframes
      - Speak to your solicitor/conveyancer about the expected settlement process
      - Go to the Fair Trading website for overview information as well: http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/ftw/Tenants_and_home_owners/Buying_property.page?
      Cheers.

  6. Hi Viliala, thank you for this information - very useful. Now that Ceerose have also responded with a comprehensive update, we can start the loan arrangement process. Better to line it up well in advance. Cheers, Elena
