Final post for 2013

On 23rd December we visited the site again. This time we went to Jones Lane, where the door was open and we were able to step inside and take closer photographs as well as talk to one of the foremen.

In the first picture you can see how far down they have dug by the sandstone "cliff" that remains on the right. It was encouraging to see so many people working on it. The foreman said they were on schedule and would be working all through January. He was just doing the external building work and he expected the shell to be finished in about July 2014. However the entire construction would not be finished until 2015. 

The second photograph shows the southern end of the property, where they have not yet started construction on the building itself, although the retaining walls are built. This part of the building will have only 5 storeys, while the northern end will be 10 storeys.

More progress is made

On the 8th of December we went to have another look at the building site, to see what had been done. It was quite easy to see the changes that had happened since the last visit. In this photo you can see at least three of the floors starting to take shape, as well as some scaffolding.
