Swung by HM on the way through Pyrmont today, and as I was taking a photo of dirt instead of the hoped-for concrete driveway, a Ceerose chap came out for a friendly chat.
He was not prepared to commit to a moving date, but said it's finished inside, they just have to complete outside. From this picture, that's still a fair bit of work.
He explained that Ceerose likes to hand over its buildings in great shape, not with things still left to do. He said some builders rush the tenants in and then spend 6 months fixing and finishing. He could not commit to a date because even when finished, government departments had to approve it. Sigh!
It's now October and we all expected to be in residence by now, but I'm prepared to accept the Ceerose story that they are finishing a quality product. The delay has been frustrating but I guess that's one of the consequences of buying off-the-plan.
We promise not to post another photo of a dirt driveway - it will need a lot of concrete to grace these pages next time.
The house-warming party might be Christmas drinks, folks.
Hey, do you guys know the sunset clause date? Hopefully it is still far away
ReplyDelete31 March 2016. I'll storm the office long before that date.
ReplyDeleteLet's storm that company
ReplyDeleteGood point re: Sunset clause. If there is any office storming action - count me in for that. A piecenof good news - a lot more progress seen today - the storm water drainage system with metallic grids on the surface seems tonhave been completed. It appears that the only job now left to do is concreting and tiles. The lift looks nice with glass doors. Here are also light posts in place. I have a picture - but not Graham and Elana said no more unconcreted dirt photos to be posted :-) Overall, it feels that ALL the work could be reasonable completed in the next 2 weeks. If it takes longer - I will start to get seriously worried.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elena. Sounds encouraging. We will go to the site by the end of the week and expect to see a lot of concrete in the driveway.
ReplyDeleteElena. After much chasing my solicitor got from Ceerose that they are targeting end of October for occupancy permit.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary Sue. Only three weeks from now. I wonder what that means for inspections/settlement/moving in.

ReplyDeleteFingers crossed they make good progress with this. Looks like good cement and tile laying weather this week so there's no excuse :)
ReplyDeleteAnother indicator of the timing is the real estate agents in charge of hiring our the place has 2 properties listed with a move in date of around Nov 1.

not gonna happen - my bank tried to get on site valuation for from CBRE, they said end of Nov the earliest
DeleteHi Wing, the strata fee is set by the owners who become part of the Body Corporate, under advice from the strata manager, set to maintain the property properly. At least there is no pool, gym or concierge to pay for.
